***Meet the American K9 Country Staff***

Meet the Owners.....

Bob & Dottie Proulx

Bob has over 20 years experience in the sport of showing and breeding dogs. He has been an avid AKC show exhibitor/handler and owned and managed Ivy Hollow Kennels with his wife Dottie. He is recognized for producing top winning Champion Alaskan Malamutes in breed & performance events. Bob has competed in dog sledding events and has designed & built wheel-rig sleds for off-season sledding. Bob has illustrated his lifelong dedication and love for responsible dog ownership & care through his dealings with local breed rescue organizations. As a member of Yankee Alaskan Malamute Club, Bob has acted as Vice-President and Co-Hospitality Chairman at many AKC shows & events. Besides being AK9C's Bookeeper, Dottie, or as she's known to K9 Country Crew, "Auntie Dot," is what gives American K9 Country the warm, family feel. Whether Dot is in the kitchen cooking the daycare staff breakfast, or whether Bob is outside jump-starting a client's car, American K9 Country would not be the beautiful, warm family facility that it is without owners, Bob & "Auntie Dot." Bob & Dottie currently reside in the log home on the hill on AK9C property.

Celeste Meade

Not only is Celeste one of the owners but she is the brains behind this amazing facility.  Celeste's vision was to create a facility that was inviting  not only owners but pets as well.  AK9C is a facility built by dog trainers for dog trainers. Every aspect of the facility revolves around convenience along with a cozy home feeling.  This is more than a pet care facility, rather it is both pet and owner's home away from home. Whether it be the beautifully hand-painted floors or one of the many murals that cover our walls, Celeste & friends poured their hearts and souls into making this facility what it is today!

As a professional dog trainer, Celeste Meade has had a successful career competing nationally and training dogs for over 25 years. She has achieved numerous titles in obedience, conformation, sheep herding and tracking while earning number one national rankings and TEN Perfect 200's, high in trials, championships and numerous coveted "Dog World Award." She & Zoom are currently ranked #1 in the United States for 2004 "First & Foremost" in all breed dog obedience. Celeste has competed on the United States World Dog Obedience Team & competed at CRUFTS in Birmingham, England in March of 2006 earning herself 11th place in the WORLD! Go USA!

Facility Manager/Web Mistress

Amber Genest

If you've ever been to AK9C then you've more than likely seen Amber busily typing away in the office with her dog Quick lying at her feet. After attending Colorado State University and the University of New Hampshire majoring both in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Amber received her Bachelor of Science Degree. As an PCSA Certified Advanced Pet Care Technician Level II & Certified Red Cross Pet First Aid Tech and with over 5 years experience as a veterinary surgical technician, Amber brings medical perspective to the AK9C crew. Destined for Veterinary School, Amber has put her plans of attending Tufts on hold to manage this great facility. At the early age of 3 Amber found her first love, horses! Now an avid horse trainer & exhibitor, Amber has over 25 years of riding, training & showing experience under her belt. When not at a horse show Amber can be found in the ring showing dogs. She has competed all over the country as well as in Canada with champion Bloodhounds. Even competing at the prestegious Westminster Kennel Club in 1997 and winning an Award of Merit with her Bloodhound "Tootsie." Now-a-days when not showing one of her horses in the jumper ring, Amber is currently competing in Obedience & Agility with her Border Collie "Quick" (Ewe Can't Catch me Nimrod CDX RE MX MXF MXJ) as well as Celeste's Border Collie "Sparky" (Border Bay's Ewe Make Sparks Fly AXJ XF AX). There's a new BC kid in town~ Darksides Kick'n It Up a Notch AX, AXJ, XF. "Notch" is destined to be a super star since he is Sparky's son! Be on the look out for these speed-daemons!

Allison Kiah

 PCSA Certified Pet Care Technician
Certified Red Cross Pet First Aid

As an avid horse show competitor, Allison is a true animal lover.  She has been showing horses along the East Coast for the past 20 years on the Paint circuit. Growing up Allison's home was always a pet menagerie. Whether she was brushing the family's breeding Samoyeds, cuddling with her kitty or riding "Ed" along the trails of Epping, Allison was never far from an animal. For 8 years Allison managed one of NH's largest equestrian tack stores- so she brings a great business perspective to the AK9C staff. Allison currently shares her home with Baron (3 yr old Paint horse) & her 2 border collies, Chevy & Dually. She currently is competing in Open Agility & Rally with Chevy ("Windwood's Hot Roddin Chevy" NA, NAJ) and Dually (Don't Forget Dually NA, NF) in Novice Agility as well.
